How we work
What working with us is actually like.
No black box. You see working software every week, who owns the code is settled in your contract before it is written, and the price comes from a written scope rather than a guess.
We work across US and Gulf hours, so meetings happen at a normal hour for you — and we meet clients in person in both.
The short version
- Sprint length
- Two weeks
- You see progress
- Every week
- Code and design files
- Set out in your contract
- Accountable to you
- A named delivery lead
Most engagements start with a two-week discovery sprint — fixed price, real output you can act on whether or not we continue.
The process
Learn, Design, Build, Evolve
The same four stages whether the engagement is a two-week pilot or a two-year product relationship. Only the length of the loop changes.
Learn
We start inside your problem — your systems, your constraints, what is actually costing you money. Usually a paid discovery sprint: real work you can act on, whoever you end up hiring.
Design
Structure, flows and interface are prototyped and pulled apart before anyone writes production code. The expensive mistakes die here, where fixing one costs a day instead of a month.
Build
Two-week sprints, a demo of working software every week, and a board and repository you can open whenever you like. You watch it become real instead of reading that it did.
Evolve
Going live is the start, not the finish. We measure, harden and ship the next most valuable thing — the reliability and growth work that compounds month after month.
Engagement models
Four ways to work with us
Most clients start with a paid discovery sprint rather than a long contract, so they can see how we work before committing to more.
| Model | Best used when | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Discovery sprint | You want proof before a long commitment | Where most start |
| Dedicated team | Ongoing product work and evolving scope, month to month | Our default |
| Fixed-scope project | A bounded deliverable — an MVP, a redesign, a migration | Priced from scope |
| Team extension | You have your own team and process, and need specific skills | By arrangement |
Every engagement
What you get, week to week
Ownership settled before work starts
Who owns the code, infrastructure and design files is written into your contract before the first sprint. Where the agreement assigns them to you, we work in your repositories and your cloud accounts from the start, and a working handover is available whenever you want one.
Weekly demos, not status reports
Every week you see working software. A report describes progress; a demo proves it, and it surfaces a misunderstanding while it is still cheap to fix.
A named delivery lead
One person is accountable for your engagement end to end, and they are on the first call rather than appearing after the contract is signed.
Senior people do the work
The person on the first call is the person on the project. There is no senior sales team in front of a junior delivery team.
Meetings on your clock
We work across US and Gulf hours, so meetings happen at a normal hour for you — and when a conversation is better had face to face, we meet you in person.
A price we can stand behind
Requirements are costed in people and time before we quote. It takes a few days rather than an hour, and the number holds for the scope you sign.
Pricing
How a price gets set
We take your requirements in detail, review them with the technical lead to work out what delivery actually costs in people and time, and quote from that. A proposal takes a few days rather than an hour — and the number we give you holds for the scope you sign.
Retainers are priced by team makeup. Fixed-scope work is priced from a written scope, with a change-request process agreed before the project starts rather than argued about halfway through.
Fit
Who we are the right team for
- You want senior people on the work rather than the lowest bid
- You want ownership of the code, the infrastructure and the design files settled in writing before work starts
- You would rather see working software every week than read a status report
- You want one team for everything from a website to a full product, at one standard
Where we are not the right team for something, we say so on the first call — it saves you a month finding out the same thing.
Tell us what you are trying to build.
A 30-minute call with the people who would do the work — not a sales team. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right team for it.
- On the call
- Your goals, what exists today and the first steps. No account manager in between.
- Afterwards
- A written scope and a price within days — or a straight answer that we are not the right team.
- No obligation
- Nothing is committed until a scope is signed, and anything we send you is yours to keep.
